In 2015, Bruges Cultural Centre celebrates it’s 20th anniversary.
This celebratory occasion called for an extra special and festive program book and diary.
In form and typography the brochure is inspired by a diary, the program is rendered per day and in chronological order. Besides the program, a timeline runs throughout the brochure which links events and anecdotes of the past 20 years to the respective day.
Throughout the program book, sections, each one focussing on a different cultural aspect, are inserted. These sections are all designed differently, there are 20 inserts, one for each year of the Cultural Centre’s ‘life’.
Advised by our paper consultant Sofie Jacobs, the designer decided to print on MultiOffset® 120 g. This paper has a beautiful touch and gives the images an artistic character. It also invites readers to write in the brochure, which at the end of the day, is the purpose of a diary.
The cover was printed on the same paper but finished with a mat laminate on the outside.
It has flaps that fold open and in which a calendar of the cultural year is integrated so that it stays visible whilst flipping the pages of the program book.
The book has 224 pages and is yarn stitched.
